How would you dress if you wanted to celebrate strength of womanhood? I recently was invited to be the chief guest at the Times Power Women event in Pune to felicitate a line of ladies for their powerful achievements in 2017. It was an absolute honour to be there and celebrate these wonderful women.

I believe fashion is an art of expression and really was excited to dress up for this powerful occasion. A well-fitted suit is always great to show who wears the pants. This doesn’t mean that we need to dress “like men” to look powerful though. That’s why we opted for the softest fabric and most feminine colour: red velvet. It’s almost shimmering purple if the light falls right – I absolutely love it! The deep cut, bare chest is the womanly highlight of the outfit and so it requires no extra accessories – just a pair of dangling earrings does good. Hair in a sleek ponytail and we’re ready to take the stage!

What do you think of this look? And which outfit do you think reflects a powerful woman best?

You carried off the outfit graciously and in today’s time, i feel that is the most important part – how well one can carry it off. In some events even a saree looks worth admiring.
