Style Files: How to style your summer in the hills!
You all know that I absolutely love nature. Being close to the rolling hills and towering mountain peaks invigorates me! That’s why during my recent trip to Dehradun, where I was the guest of honour to unveil the first look of Doon Page 3 magazine, I wanted to ensure that I was dressed the part! This was an outdoors event surrounded by beautiful gardens so the right dress was a must! One thing I would always recommend for any formal outdoors party, whether it’s a wedding function or a high tea brunch, is think about the colours and elements in your natural setting and backdrop to get some inspiration! Your backdrop is always the best place to start when planning any outfit.
Personally, nature is my favourite canvas to use when thinking about style so I usually pick dresses that interweave natural elements like flowers and vines to complement the beautiful ambiance like this VARQ by Varun and Nidhika dress that was comfortable yet flirty all at the same time. What I loved about this seemingly simple dress is that it can be enhanced with the pairing of fun and eye-catching accessories – a MUST for every dress. Accessories like my gold Aldo heels are an essential addition to any closet, because they go with almost everything. Through my non-profit organization Seams For Dreams, many of you know that I am a big advocate for re-wearing outfits as much as possible. That’s why I love staples like gold heels that can go with Indian and western clothes – dresses, formals, and jeans! My main inspiration for this night was – when in nature, do as the glamorous forest nymphs do!
Besides the lovely function we thoroughly enjoyed the fresh mountain air and strolling around busy streets in this beautiful hill station! This jeans jacked from DEME by Gabriella is my new favourite and most versatile piece in my wardrobe. I love fashion that you can style in different ways and pair with all kinds of other items from your closet! Wear Wash Love Repeat!
