It’s a holiday week and there’s no better time than to catch up on watching all the Bollywood films you wanted to see, Jack & Dil included! I hope everyone gets a chance to go see the film; we’ve all waited so long for it to come out. I’m even more excited because my song ‘Chuski’ from the film is reaching over 1 million organic views on YouTube and it was one of my most challenging dance performances yet!
Although directors and choreographers do a fabulous job of making the song and performance look so seamless and flawless, it takes a lot of dedication, focus, and training for talent, too to get it right.
Behind the scenes is not always as rosy with all the bloopers, faux pas, and retakes, of course, but the final product that all of you see on the big screen makes it all worth it, no matter what the box office has to say! It’s all part of the journey as an actor and I really loved working with my co-stars Amit Sadh, Sonal Chauhan, Arbaaz Khan, and our director Sachin Karande!
Every time I work on a new film, it’s an opportunity to grow as an actor and no matter what the outcome is, for me, it’s all about the process and the wonderful people you get to interact with. Shooting a film is no easy feat – it’s hours and days of non-stop work and if we can’t enjoy this journey we embark on, we simply won’t appreciate our own craft. That’s really how you know you’ve made it as an actor and is the best way to reach your goals – have fun no matter what!
I have been blessed to be part of some amazing movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Yaariyan, and Ishqedarriyaan and really loved every part of it! I especially like making comedy films because there’s always such a good vibe on the set – everyone is always in a good mood and there are lots of jokes and pranks being played on set and behind the scenes. Everyone almost always has a smile on their face!
For this upcoming year, I’m excited to finish shooting for my first kickass action role in Saaho, which is directed by Sujeeth Reddy and features Prabhas, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Shraddha Kapoor and many more stars from the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu film industry!
I’m currently reading a few more scripts and am waiting for the right films to choose. Being wise about the right films has been something I’ve tried doing since the start of my career and today I can proudly say I love all my films and want to do only the kind of films and roles I would be proud of in future, too. Which movie of mine is your favourite? I would love to hear your comments below!
Wishing everyone loads of love and light this Diwali!
