Don’t you love it when Mumbai gets cold for that one week in winter? Almost gives you those sweaters and boots winter vibes! This year I was lucky to experience a full-blown snowy winter in America though! As the world rang in 2019, I did the same except in the good ole’ United States of America! This place brings back so many lovely memories for me, I’ve made at least a few more trips to the U.S. and I continue to discover more of its beauty each time! Everything from the lifestyle, fashion, landscape, and history fascinates me.
This time around, I took a holiday with my bestie Rachel, to Atlanta, Georgia, and guess what happened, my luggage went missing after we landed there. I was almost left with nothing to wear, and my love for reusing clothes came into the picture and saved the day, my project Seams For Dreams is close to my heart because it is deeply associated with reusing clothes. Everyone who knows about my charity foundation, Seams For Dreams also knows about my love for vintage shopping, we just had to go and shop at a few vintage boutiques there.
The city of Atlanta is considered to be part of the Deep South of the country. Georgia is home to lots and lots of history and I loved walking around the historical areas of the city and of course, stopping by at cute boutiques and cafes and trying out some Southern cooking. There is the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, where one can taste beverages from all around the world. Atlanta is definitely a big city and dancing the night away on New Year’s Eve with my best friend was so much fun.
After our trip to Atlanta, we hopped on a plane to see another dear friend in Boise, Idaho, which is in the Pacific Northwest and has such a beautiful landscape. This small town city sits at the edge of the Boise Mountains and has sunsets to die for! I’m sure some of y’all saw my Instagram stories; I just couldn’t help myself!
Not to mention, there were trees trailing further than my eyes could see and we even had a chance to enjoy the snow. Snow is something that I really miss since moving from Germany and spending a part of the holidays playing in it brought back such childhood memories, and also made me go back to my YJHD days of shooting in the gorgeous and scenic mountains of Kashmir. TOI covered a section about my US trip bringing back memories of YJHD, you can read here.
This time around, I got a chance to visit a whole new part of America and I adored every moment. Till we meet again, ‘Merica!
